Ceremony December 2018
On 11 December 2018, the physico-chemist Janina Kneipp was awarded the seventh Caroline von Humboldt Professorship. Keynote speaker of the award ceremony was Dr. Katarina Barley, Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection. Professor Dr Gerwin Puppels, Erasmus MC University Rotterdam, hold the laudatory speech.
The Caroline von Humboldt-Professor 2019, Janina Kneipp, is an outstanding researcher with a high national and international reputation for her innovative basic research and application-related results in spectroscopy at the interface of chemistry, physics and biology. At the same time, she is strongly involved in the academic self-administration of the university and actively supports particularly qualified young researchers. The jury recognized her as being an excellent researcher with “great personal impact” both within and beyond the university.
