Panel Discussion "Equal Opportunities and Equality in Economics"
On November 28th, 2023, a panel discussion on the topic of "Equal Opportunities and Equality in Economics" took place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a sparkling wine reception in the Heilig-Geist Kapelle at the School of Business and Economics, Spandauer Str. 1, 10178 Berlin.
The panel included Prof. Dr. Monika Huesmann (Professor of Organisation, Human Resources and Information Management and head of the IBCON course ‘Human Resource Management’ at the HWR Berlin), Prof. Dr. Jeannette Trenkmann (Professor of General Business Administration and Dean of the Faculty of Business & Management at the BSP Berlin) , Lisa Ertl (organisational consultant and partner at Diversity Kartell) and Sandra Subel (Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion Strategy at the Axel Springer AG) on equal opportunities and equality in economics.
The event was moderated by Chiponda Chimbelu - he is an editor and member of editor-in-chief’s office at Deutsche Welle, in addition to being a consultant at Diversity Kartell.
The panel focused in particular on the following questions:
- Which areas of economics still predominantly lack representation, diversity and inclusion?
- Where is diversity research conducted in economics and in what areas should it be conducted?
- How can institutions and organisations promote diversity, representation and inclusion?
The panel discussion was organised together with the initiative ‘Women in Economics @ HU’ and was sponsored by the Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft an der HU e.V.
