Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - The Central Women's Representative

A communication strategy focused on equal opportunities serves to establish a culture of gender equality at HU.

Recognition and visibility are closely connected. This is the premise leading to an increased public presence of the topic gender equality at HU.

Measures designed to increase the visibility of excellent female researchers and their performance are employed to add to the meaning and importance of gender equality in the public sphere. Among these measures are publications and events on the topic of gender equality as well as the periodical “humboldt chancengleich” and regular events on the International Women’s Day. Prestigious events surrounding the award ceremonies of the Caroline von Humboldt Prize and the Caroline von Humboldt Professorship also increase the visibility of women at HU. This also applies in particular to the Lise Meitner Memorial in HU’s court d’honneur.
