Postdoc Programme "PostDocPro" -currently no call for applications

The Postdoc Programme "PostDocPro" usually comes as a 50% post for a period of 12 to 15 months. During this time, a research project – in particular in MINT disciplines or Gender Studies – can be realised at HU and potentially also with external partners. At the same time, these posts help you to prepare a external funding application.

Self- Application -currently no call for applications

For a half to full postdoctoral position for the purpose of preparing an application for external funding to obtain a position of one's own until the anticipated start of the project.

Completion scholarship for "Habilitandinnen"-currently no call for applications

You can apply for a six-month scholarship for the conclusion of your “Habilitation”. Should your application be successful, you will receive 1,500 € per month. Children supplements are also available.

You can apply directly with the Commission for the Promotion of Women (“Kommission für Frauenförderung der HU (KFF)”) for this completion scholarship.

You can receive a scholarship for six months to complete your habilitation. The grant amounts to 1,500€ per month, plus a child supplement of 400€ for the 1st child and 100€ for each additional child.

Applications for postdoctoral fellowships are to be submitted to the Commission for the Advancement of Women exclusively in digital form (please include all documents in a single PDF file) by the applicants.

International Research Award (InRA) -currently no call for applications

With the International Research Award, you can realize a six- to nine-month stay abroad as a postdoc or junior professor. This will give you the opportunity both to expand your scientific network and to test your skills at a renowned university abroad.

The scholarship period for all scholarships is between six and nine months and is determined according to individual needs.

Junior Professorships: W1 programme for female early career researchers -currently no call for applications

The HU has its own junior professor program, which has succeeded in increasing the proportion of women in this category of positions to over 60%. Junior professorships offer you, as a successful postdoc, the opportunity to work independently in research and teaching already at the beginning of your academic career.

If you are interested, please contact your faculty or institute. From there, applications for funding should be submitted to the Commission for the Advancement of Women at the HU (KFF).

Temporary W2 Professorships -currently no call for applications

The W2 temporary professorship is a successful funding line for the further professionalization of female scientists. The HU applies for these professorships upon proposal from the faculties and institutes to the Berlin Equal Opportunity Program (BCP).

If you are interested, please contact your faculty or institute. From there, the applications for funding are to be submitted to the Commission for the Advancement of Women at the HU (KFF).

"Vorgezogene Nachfolgeberufungen" (VNB) for women -currently no call for applications

The federal and state programs for early succession appointments provide new impetus for equal opportunities policy. Professorships that will become vacant in the next few years are the prerequisite for institutes or faculties to apply for a VNB. The HU applies for a VNB upon proposal from the faculties and institutes to the Berlin Equal Opportunity Program (BCP) or the W1/W2 position program of the HU, among others.

Guest Professorships for women  -currently no call for applications

Visiting professorships support excellent young female scientists, especially in the STEM fields and in gender studies. They serve the qualification and professonalization on the way to a professorship and are usually awarded for one semester. Applications for visiting professorships for women are submitted to the Commission for the Advancement of Women of the HU (KFF) by the institutes and faculties. Funding through the Berlin Equal Opportunity Program (BCP).

For the summer and winter semesters of 2022/2023, the Berlin Program for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching invites applications for visiting professorships and visiting lectureships for one year. Priority consideration in the selection process by the Commission for the Advancement of Women (KFF) will be given to applications with consideration of female postdoctoral fellows for whom employment has already been applied for through the institute or faculty but not approved.
