Ceremony 2018
On 23 February 2018, the archaeologist PD Dr Natascha Mehler was awarded the Caroline von Humboldt Prize.
Natascha Mehler received the prestigious prize, endowed with 15,000 €, for her creative interdisciplinary research, which combines approaches and methods of archaeology, history, and social and cultural anthropology. Since 2015 she is junior research group leader of the project “Between the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea – Interdisciplinary studies of the Hanseatic League” at the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven. The prize money enables Natascha Mehler to carry out a research project on “Hanseatic culture and art objects” at the Institute for Art and Visual History at the Humboldt-Universität.
