Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - The Central Women's Representative

Ceremony 2012

The Caroline von Humboldt Prize was awarded to two researchers on 6 November 2012.

Dr Claudia Brunner received the award for her project on the theorisation of Epistemic Violence. The Jury described her work as “fascinating, innovative and extraordinarily relevant in terms of research policy”. Dr Claudia Brunner is a research assistant (“Universitätsassistentin”) and study programme coordinator at the Centre for Peace Studies and Peace Education (“Zentrum für Friedensforschung und Friedenspädagogik”) at the Alpen-Adria Universität Klagenfurt.

Dr Cornelia Ebert convinced the jury with her project on speech-accompanying gestures and how their meaning contribution interacts with the semantic content of the speech signal ("Sprachbegleitende Gesten in der formalen Semantik und Pragmatik") as well as her extensive publications. She is a research assistant (“wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin”) at the Institute for Linguistics at Universität Stuttgart.
