The DFG's Research-Oriented Equity and Diversity Standards

The DFG’s General Assembly passed their “Research-Oriented Standards on Gender Equality” in 2008. With this voluntary self-commitment, the members of the DFG have defined structural and personal standards in order to achieve a sustainable gender equality policy for the entire higher education sector.

In 2022, the DFG General Assembly decided to strengthen the aspect of diversity in the "Research-Oriented Standards on Gender Equality " in order to push for equal opportunities in science and research from an intersectional perspective. The promotion of diversity is now considered a quality feature of science.
